It is independent. Its money is not touching evidence, charging decisions, victim interviews, or department policy. TRAFFIC HAZARD.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel read it from the console screen as Thane turned the Humvee toward the highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPossible horse.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark looked up from the rear seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnimal Control?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOn another call,\u201d Gabriel said. \u201cPatrol is on scene.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane accelerated carefully through the evening traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCould be a horse.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel looked out the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt could also be a cow, donkey, llama, ostrich, or one of those very large decorative yard dogs people keep in rural neighborhoods.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark blinked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDecorative yard dogs?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou know. The little white fluffy ones.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThose are not large.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey are emotionally large.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane did not look at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPlease stop.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am helping.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They reached the access road two minutes later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patrol had blocked one lane with emergency lights. Traffic had begun stacking in both directions.
