His cargo pants had been modified for his tail, the knees already stained from some previous project neither Gabriel nor Mark had ever managed to identify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark sat at the island with a tablet open beside a printed volunteer confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He had dressed exactly as expected: gray work shirt, dark utility pants, compact first-aid pouch clipped to his belt, and a small notebook tucked into one pocket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel stared at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou have a notebook.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is a volunteer workday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cVolunteer workdays involve measurements, material counts, task assignments, and basic logistical coordination.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel took a sip of coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou are excited.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat is Mark for excited,\u201d Thane said as he crossed toward the refrigerator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark gave him a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou are both confusing competence with emotion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel smiled faintly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The kitchen smelled like coffee, toast, and the breakfast burritos Thane had started warming in the oven before anyone else came downstairs. Outside, sunlight already moved through the trees beyond the wide cabin windows. The June morning was bright and warm, the kind that would be pleasant for another hour and then begin reminding everyone that Oklahoma did not believe in moderation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane set three bottles of water on the counter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe need to leave in twenty minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel looked at the clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe need to leave at all?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhy?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane looked at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBecause we signed up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel narrowed his eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWho signed us up?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark raised one hand slightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI forwarded the community-center announcement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat is not the same thing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou all replied.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel looked at Thane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou replied?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane opened the oven, checked the burritos, then looked back at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is a garden expansion and pantry buildout. They need volunteers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel paused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLike\u2026 actual work?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLike actual work,\u201d Thane said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel\u2019s ears drooped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOn a Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark looked down at the printed confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Eastside Community Garden serves the pantry program at Hollow Creek Community Center. They are adding six raised beds, replacing a damaged rainwater-catchment system, expanding the accessible path, and reorganizing the pantry\u2019s dry-goods storage.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel listened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then looked at the three bottles of water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhy do I get the feeling you have known about this for days?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBecause I told you about it Friday morning,\u201d Mark said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then pointed at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat was before the cake incident.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe cake incident did not erase the calendar.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEmotionally, it did.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane pulled the burritos from the oven and set them on plates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are going.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel stared at the plate in front of him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then at the morning sunlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then at the two wolves who had apparently decided that the correct use of a Sunday was hauling dirt in the heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFine,\u201d he said at last. \u201cBut I am not pretending to enjoy wheelbarrows.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark looked up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNobody asked you to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGood. Because they are a betrayal of engineering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane sat down with his breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He complained while doing it, but he ate every bite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hollow Creek Community Center sat in an older east-side neighborhood where small brick homes stood beneath thick shade trees and nearly every front porch had some version of a folding chair, a wind chime, or a flowerpot someone had painted by hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The community-center building had once been an elementary school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its faded red-brick walls still held the shape of that history: broad windows, a central entrance, wide hallways visible through the front glass, and an old playground at the back that had been converted into a small public recreation area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Behind the building, the garden spread across what had once been a cracked section of blacktop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It already had several raised beds, a compact greenhouse, a compost area, two rain barrels, and a small covered table where pantry volunteers sorted donated produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the space was full of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Families in work clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Teenagers from a local church youth group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A pair of older women in sun hats and gardening gloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A retired firefighter in a sweat-darkened T-shirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two middle-school boys carrying shovels much too large for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A dozen folding tables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stacks of lumber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pallets of bagged soil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cinder blocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mulch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garden tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boxes of canned goods waiting to be sorted inside the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And, parked near the curb, the Humvee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The moment Thane turned into the lot, three teenagers near the volunteer check-in table stopped moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One pointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other two looked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel groaned quietly from the passenger seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere it is.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane parked along the far edge of the lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt will be fine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel looked at the growing cluster of people noticing the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou say that like you do not understand what the Humvee does to people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark climbed out of the back seat carrying the water and a small canvas tool bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is visually distinctive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat is Mark for \u2018people are going to lose their minds,\u2019\u201d Gabriel said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane opened the rear hatch and pulled out a pair of old work gloves. He held them up, looked at the claws at the end of his fingers, then tossed the gloves back into the cargo area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel noticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGoing barepawed?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEasier.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark did the same with his own gloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel looked at his claws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am pretty sure my hands are already gardening equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They crossed the lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The volunteer coordinator spotted them almost immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was a Black woman in her late forties with a bright orange Hollow Creek Community Center shirt, jeans, Keen work boots, and a clipboard that looked as though it had survived several previous community projects by force of personality alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a second, she stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then she recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDetectives?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOff duty,\u201d Thane said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her expression softened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRight. I run the community center.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She held out her hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane shook it carefully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNice to meet you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Renee looked at Gabriel and Mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou three are really here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat is usually how it works.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Renee laughed once, still looking faintly stunned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI saw the volunteer confirmation come through and thought somebody was playing a joke on me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark held up the printed registration sheet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt was a legitimate confirmation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI believe that now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Renee glanced toward the cluster of people gathering near the check-in table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her expression shifted into practical concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI need to ask,\u201d she said carefully, \u201cwere you expecting media? Or a photographer? We came to work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a moment, she just looked at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then some of the surprise left her face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOkay,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhere do you need us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Renee looked past them toward the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then at the stacks of lumber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then at the pallet of soil, where three volunteers were already studying a pallet jack with the resigned expression of people who had discovered a design limitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her smile came back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOh, I have ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before she could say more, the first teenagers reached them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A girl with a volunteer badge clipped to her shirt held up her phone, looking embarrassed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cExcuse me,\u201d she said. \u201cCould we get a picture first? Before you get all dirty?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel glanced at Thane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane looked at Renee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Renee gave a small shrug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt may be easier to get it out of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel nodded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOkay. Five minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The five minutes became twelve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not because anyone was rude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just because people were excited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A middle-aged couple asked for a photo with all three wolves. A young boy named Kaden wanted one with Thane because he had \u201cthe biggest paws.\u201d An older volunteer asked Mark to sign a small notebook for her granddaughter, who was apparently studying criminal justice. Two teenage girls asked Gabriel whether he was really \u201cthe funny one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel looked toward Mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSee? Officially confirmed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark signed the notebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTo Brianna,\u201d he wrote. \u201cAsk good questions. Check the facts. Do not let confidence replace evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The older volunteer read it and smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat is good advice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt generally is,\u201d Mark said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel signed the girls\u2019 phone cases with a marker someone produced from nowhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTo Kayla,\u201d he wrote on one. \u201cBe kind. Drink water. Do not let your friends film you doing dangerous things.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other, he wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTo Tori. Trust your instincts, but do not text while walking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The girls laughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane signed a baseball cap for Kaden, then crouched carefully when the boy asked whether he could touch one of Thane\u2019s claws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cJust the back,\u201d Thane said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kaden traced one fingertip over the brown fur near Thane\u2019s wrist, then stared at the claw with enormous seriousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAre they sharp?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDo they hurt?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kaden thought about that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDo you use them on bad guys?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane looked at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI use them carefully.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kaden nodded as if that had answered something important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then he hesitated, clutching the phone his father had handed him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCould I get a picture with you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane nodded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kaden stepped closer, then looked up with sudden uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCould you maybe do, like\u2026 a wolf face?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel turned his head immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA wolf face?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kaden\u2019s eyes went huge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLike snarling. Or growling. If that is okay.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His father looked embarrassed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou do not have to do that, sir. I am sorry. day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then back at Gabriel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI will not forward any volunteer announcements before Tuesday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel stared at both of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is how I end up carrying mulch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thane stood and gathered the empty bowls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou carried one bag of mulch.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI carried it emotionally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark nodded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat part is true.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gabriel sighed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGood day, last bite of his grilled cheese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGood day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Outside, the trees moved in the evening breeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Somewhere across Cross Timber, volunteers were probably still walking home dirty and tired, telling families about the beds they had built and the food pantry they had organized and the wolves who had carried things that should have required three people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what Thane would remember was not the surprise on anyone\u2019s face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It would be the moment the whole group had moved the last wheelbarrow load of gravel together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nobody standing back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nobody waiting for someone else to fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just
