Silas stepped forward and wrapped both arms around Thane, hard enough that a human body would have complained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Silas pulled back enough to breathe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His eyes were wet. His muzzle was a mess of feeling. But his shoulders were still square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd for the record, if you are making life-and-death loyalty vows in my kitchen, you should know your fur markings look extremely cool in dramatic lighting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then made a sound halfway between a laugh and a groan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat was the transition?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gabriel turned back immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark nodded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe lighting is favorable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Silas looked at Mark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark said, \u201cThe contrast along the shoulders is visually distinctive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gabriel pointed at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
