No video walls. No pyro. Just raw, unfiltered energy blasting from the amps like lightning in a bottle. The crowd had screamed every lyric. Gabriel nearly shattered a monitor with a stage dive. Cassie held a high note so long a guy in the front row <em>literally<\/em> dropped to his knees. Thane&#8217;s mix was razor sharp, and Mark\u2019s lights made the entire venue feel like it was twice its size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019d wrapped just after midnight, sweaty, aching, grinning like maniacs. Load out was a whirlwind of cables, crates, and half-eaten pizza slices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The moment the gear was packed, Diesel was in the driver\u2019s seat and already gunning it south.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>By morning, the sun rose over <strong>Myrtle Beach<\/strong> like a spotlight just for them. Waves curled in the distance. The arena loomed ahead, a steel and concrete monolith ringed by vendor tents and banners that screamed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FERAL ECLIPSE \u2013 HEADLINING TONIGHT<\/strong><br><strong>WITH SPECIAL GUESTS: Echo Ritual, Thorn Halo, VANDAL SAINTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the bus pulled around to the artist entrance, it was met by staff. Not security. Not volunteers. <em>Staff.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They had printed badges with the band\u2019s names. A welcome packet. Pre-staged dressing rooms stocked to spec \u2014 Gabriel\u2019s was already set with four coffee options and an entire Keurig cart. Thane\u2019s tech checklist had already been printed and laminated. Diesel got handed a private parking tag like he was driving the President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And just inside the loading dock, unpacking their guitars in the back corner, stood the <strong>Vandal Saints<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel stepped off the bus first, eyes scanning the dock with a relaxed grin. \u201cAhh. Smell that? That\u2019s the scent of validation and fear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark followed him out, muttering, \u201cDon\u2019t start a fight before breakfast.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thane came down next. \u201cNo promises.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s when it happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From across the venue floor, <strong>Bret<\/strong> \u2014 lead singer of Vandal Saints, ego the size of a stadium, sunglasses on indoors <em>again<\/em> \u2014 looked up and saw them. Saw the full VIP treatment. The security team smiling. The interns rushing forward with clipboards. The literal rolling espresso machine heading <em>toward Gabriel.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bret\u2019s mouth opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His jaw dropped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He made a noise halfway between a sneeze and a scream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201c<em>YOU\u2019VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME?!<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He stormed forward, arms flailing like an air traffic controller who\u2019d had a full breakdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cYou guys \u2014 what is this? What is <em>this?!<\/em> You\u2019ve got\u2026 coffee service?! Real security? Custom passes?! We\u2019ve been here all morning and we had to share a green room with <em>Thorn Halo\u2019s drummer<\/em> and his emotional support ferret!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Cassie walked by him without stopping. \u201cMaybe your agent should work harder.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bret spun like a dramatic villain and pointed at Gabriel. \u201cYOU! This is your fault, isn\u2019t it?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel blinked, sipped his coffee, and smiled wide. \u201cI dunno what you\u2019re talking about, man. I\u2019m just a humble bassist with caffeine needs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bret screamed into the sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, off to the side, <strong>Lance<\/strong> \u2014 Vandal Saints\u2019 bassist \u2014 had wandered over to chat with Gabriel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHey man,\u201d he said, calm, a little tired. \u201cI\u2019ve been following your tone stuff online. Your work with the DarkRay is actually amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel looked surprised for a second \u2014 then lit up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOh dude, thank you! You use active pickups?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They immediately fell into a full-on gear nerd spiral while Bret continued to explode in the background like a malfunctioning fireworks show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thane was unfazed. He handed Emily a pack of stage plots, nodded at the chaos, and said, \u201cKeep eyes on Bret. The crew rolled carts past a still-fuming Bret, who at one point actually tried to block the path to the main stage until Maya, without blinking, told him, <em>\u201cMove or I test the structural integrity of your ribcage.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He moved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mood in the arena only got better as more bands arrived, and word spread about how <em>feral<\/em> the headliner energy was. Staff treated the Eclipse crew like royalty. Fans outside screamed when they saw the bus.
