The red double-decker bus rolled out of the Rosewood’s grand portico just after breakfast, its top deck packed to the brim with eight overstimulated musicians, sound techs, lighting nerds, and one bright-eyed social media assistant filming everything.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gordon, their hired London driver, sipped a thermos of tea like a man who\u2019d already accepted his fate. “Y\u2019lot better not try any of that moon-hollering up there while I\u2019m drivin\u2019 past Parliament. They\u2019ll think it\u2019s a protest.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Promise nothing!” Gabriel shouted from the top rail, hair slicked back, wearing sunglasses he\u2019d absolutely not paid for from the hotel gift shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First stop: Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tourists turned to stare as the red bus eased to the curb. Mark pointed up toward the guards. “If one of them even flinches, I\u2019m putting it on a t-shirt.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cassie waved at a group of schoolchildren. Maya posed with a palace gate like she owned it. Rico leaned against the side of the bus, chatting with a girl who immediately burst into tears and asked him to sign her sketchbook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jonah tried to climb the gate. Thane dragged him off with a low growl and a quiet, \u201cWe do not<\/em> get deported on day one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then came Big Ben, the London Eye, the Tower Bridge\u2014each landmark turning into a full-blown street event. Fans seemed to pour out of thin air at every stop, and by lunchtime, the bus had a motorcycle escort of live streamers and paparazzi on scooters. People waved from rooftops, cabbies honked, tourists snapped pics like they were tailing royalty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gordon, meanwhile, took it all in stride. “You lot realize I\u2019ve driven the Queen once. She didn\u2019t shout \u2018I AM THE NIGHT\u2019 from the top of me bloody bus.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel grinned. \u201cShe didn\u2019t have<\/em> to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By mid-afternoon, they pulled up outside a weathered little pub tucked on a narrow street north of the city. The old sign out front read: The Black Swan Inn.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark stared at it with raised brows. \u201cThat\u2019s the place?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thane nodded. \u201cFilming location for the Slaughtered Lamb.<\/em> Emily found it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s real?\u201d Cassie whispered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel cackled. \u201cOh, this is gonna be a photo op.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As they stepped inside, the air went still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Locals sitting in the pub\u2019s dim interior turned. Every head swiveled to stare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Too quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then someone at the bar blinked, muttered, \u201cBloody hell, it\u2019s them,\u201d and all hell broke loose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phones flew out. People screamed. The bartender dropped a glass. A woman near the fireplace burst into tears. The man at the darts board fainted outright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gordon, who had followed them in just to use the loo, turned right back around. \u201cNope. I\u2019m on break.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside, a fresh batch of fans was already gathering. By the time Gabriel stood under the pub sign doing his best exaggerated howl, the crowd had tripled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They signed the wall inside with the bartender\u2019s blessing. Mark posed next to a framed still from the movie. Rico played a riff on someone\u2019s acoustic guitar. Emily filmed every second, tears in her eyes. \u201cThis is the greatest day of my entire life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As they piled back onto the bus, Gordon muttered, \u201cIf anyone asks, you\u2019re just a football team with a gland problem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel winked. \u201cDon\u2019t worry, Gordon. We tip well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
