They were all still riding the high of the moment. Gabriel hadn\u2019t stopped smiling since the final Trivium note rang out and the crowd detonated like a powder keg. Even Thane was grinning, and Mark\u2019s usually stony face carried a rare flicker of pride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tent Trivium had been assigned as their green room glowed in the soft afternoon sun, guarded lightly by two crew members and a tour manager with a walkie-talkie who gaped as the werewolves approached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOh, uh \u2014 come on in,\u201d he stammered, stepping aside immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inside, the members of Trivium had already cracked open water bottles and were mid-celebration, towels around their necks, still slick from the energy of the show. Paolo Gregoletto spotted them first and gave a low whistle as Gabriel ducked inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere he is,\u201d Paolo said, grinning wide. \u201cStage-jumper of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gabriel laughed, rubbing the back of his neck with one clawed hand. \u201cCouldn\u2019t help it, man. You motioned. I had to. And holy hell<\/em>, thank you for that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou crushed it,\u201d Matt Heafy added, coming forward and pulling Gabriel into a firm hug. \u201cYou killed it in your set, and then just \u2014 joined<\/em> ours like it was nothing. That was the most metal thing I\u2019ve seen all tour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWasn\u2019t nothin\u2019,\u201d Gabriel said, tail twitching happily. \u201cThat was my favorite Trivium song of all time. That meant the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thane stepped up, exchanging firm handshakes with each of the Trivium members. \u201cThanks for letting him do it. We don\u2019t usually let him off the leash.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHe\u2019s a good one,\u201d Matt said with a grin, clapping Gabriel on the back. \u201cYou\u2019ve got one hell of a pack.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cassie, Rico, Maya, Jonah, and Emily were already mingling with the rest of the band, swapping stories and reliving the chaos. Jonah was busy explaining how the audience had parted like the sea when Gabriel leapt from the VIP pit, and Rico had everyone laughing as he mimicked the reaction of a security guard who nearly dropped his radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDid you see the look on the guy\u2019s face?\u201d Rico said, doubling over. \u201cHe thought a panther<\/em> had just jumped the barricade!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI heard three different people scream \u2018Oh my God it\u2019s real!\u2019\u201d Emily added between giggles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gabriel finally settled into a folding chair, still a little breathless, eyes shining with joy. Paolo sat across from him, both musicians nodding silently for a second\u2014no words needed between bassists who\u2019d just shared a moment like that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019ve been following you guys for a while,\u201d Paolo admitted. \u201cYou\u2019re doing something real<\/em>. It shows.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gabriel\u2019s ears flicked, humbled. \u201cMeans a lot coming from you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou keep pushing like this,\u201d Paolo said, \u201cand you\u2019re not going to be the ones looking up to bands like ours for long.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thane overheard that part and smiled to himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAlright, alright,\u201d Matt called, raising a water bottle. \u201cTo chaos, riffs, and packs that shred.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Everyone raised whatever drink they had \u2014 bottles, cans, and in Gabriel\u2019s case, a coffee thermos that had somehow survived another show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The toast clinked together in the muggy tent air, laughter filling the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For Feral Eclipse, it was more than just another night of music.
