The Feral Eclipse crew wandered into the gleaming breakfast buffet like a pack of under-slept rockstars who had no business being near breakable tableware. The hotel had clearly not prepared for werewolves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The dining area was an elegant spread of marble floors, glass carafes of artisan juices, and waitstaff in pressed uniforms who wore the same expression as people trying not to acknowledge an oncoming tornado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thane led the pack, still wearing yesterday\u2019s jeans and a \u201cCoffee or Crying\u201d T-shirt he\u2019d found in a merch box. His ice-blue eyes scanned the offerings like a general evaluating a battlefield. One clawed hand gripped a tray; the other already held a heaping plate of bacon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mark followed behind with a slow, measured pace, fur slightly fluffed from sleep. He looked around the room like he was trying to spot which waffle iron would betray them first. He mumbled, \u201cI give this five minutes before we\u2019re asked to leave.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gabriel bounded in behind them with an energy level that should\u2019ve been illegal. Sunglasses on. Hoodie up. Steam rising from the massive hotel-branded coffee cup in his claws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOHHHHH they have croissants! I\u2019m gonna put scrambled eggs in<\/em> them. Gourmet werewolf breakfast taco, baby!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n A child at a nearby table pointed and whispered, \u201cMommy, look! Furry superheroes!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thane gave the kid a wink. Mark muttered, \u201cIf one more person calls me Chewbacca, I\u2019m burning this place down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Maya strolled in, fully human and fully amused, wearing shades and a tank top that read I don\u2019t tour with amateurs, I just babysit them<\/em>. She glanced at Gabriel\u2019s third trip to the omelet bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI swear, you burn more calories thinking than performing,\u201d she teased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBrain fuel,\u201d Gabriel replied, mouth full of melon. \u201cAlso this hotel has tiny Nutella jars and I am now their god.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jonah and Rico joined them, plates balanced high with pastries and suspiciously fancy meats. Jonah gestured to a dish labeled \u201clocal artisanal sausage\u201d and asked, \u201cThink it\u2019s real meat?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rico raised an eyebrow. \u201cYou gonna tell the werewolves if it isn\u2019t?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thane set his tray down at the far end of the long table and started organizing his food into tactical quadrants. \u201cDon\u2019t care. It\u2019s protein.
