Straight to the security office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Emily was white-knuckling her phone like it was a crucifix. Jonah kept muttering about whether he\u2019d packed deodorant that counted as a \u201cliquid explosive.\u201d And Gabriel, caught in the middle of it all, looked more like a kicked puppy than a powerful, grinning werewolf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Inside the cold, institutional interrogation room, Gabriel sat cuffed to a metal table, shoulders hunched and ears drooping. Across from him, the airport police chief leaned in with a steely glare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou impersonated a pilot. Mark looked like he was about to chew through the chair leg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When the chief returned, it was\u2026 different. He wasn\u2019t carrying forms. No backup. Apparently, he\u2019s the one in hot water now. Said he couldn\u2019t pass up the chance for his daughter to see a selfie with Gabriel from Feral Eclipse<\/em> in the cockpit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gabriel blinked. \u201cSo\u2026 I\u2019m not going to prison?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNo. But I am<\/em> gonna need a selfie too, or no one at poker night is gonna believe this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Relieved beyond words, Gabriel instinctively stood up. The handcuffs jingled\u2026 and then snapped<\/em> open as he stretched his arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The chief\u2019s face paled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gabriel froze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOh my god \u2014 I wasn\u2019t trying to escape, I swear! I forgot I was cuffed! The two posed for the world\u2019s weirdest \u201cget out of jail free\u201d selfie, and the chief even had him sign the clipboard he\u2019d brought in as if it were a band poster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Out in the waiting area, the rest of the pack stood when Gabriel came out. Thane\u2019s eyes swept over him immediately, checking for bruises, cuffs, dignity<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gabriel walked up and shoved the selfie photo into Thane\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI\u2019m officially not allowed to sit in cockpits anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thane blinked. \u201cI would hope not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI also broke the handcuffs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mark muttered, \u201cOf course you did.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The airport officials escorted them back out to the main concourse with a nervous mix of respect and regret, half-glancing at the social media alerts now lighting up their phones.
