Evening showtime, meet-and-greet line, back of the venue<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It started innocently enough. The venue had arranged a post-show meet-and-greet for fans who had splurged on VIP passes. Gabriel was still buzzing from his final solo and riding the caffeine high of two pre-show espresso shots and one disturbingly chunky energy drink labeled “Thermonuclear Howl.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was the first to take a seat at the folding table set up near the back of the venue. Mark and Thane followed, both clearly Not Having It\u2122.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then the first fan walked in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wearing ears. Sparkly pink werewolf ears. And a tail. That wagged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thane froze. Mark\u2019s pupils shrank to pinpricks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel blinked, looked left, looked right, and whispered, \u201cOh no.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next fan wore a hand-sewn hoodie with fur glued to the sleeves and what appeared to be actual meat bones dangling from the drawstrings. She growled theatrically and purred, \u201cYou guys awakened my inner beast.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark made a face like he\u2019d just bit into a hot dog and discovered a thumb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rico, already half-laughing behind a merch crate, whispered to Maya, \u201cTen bucks says Thane goes full aneurysm before this is over.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maya rolled her eyes. \u201cI\u2019m not betting on inevitability.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then came the real kicker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A teenage fan\u2014maybe seventeen\u2014wearing a glittery silver cape, mismatched claw gloves, and makeup that made him look like a raccoon who\u2019d been mugged. He proudly declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m FERAL THANE.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a beat of silence. Even Gabriel\u2019s smile twitched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExcuse me?\u201d Thane asked slowly, standing just a little taller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI made a whole OC based on you!\u201d the fan beamed. \u201cHe\u2019s, like, part arctic wolf,<\/em> but also part dragon<\/em> and his fur smells like\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStop.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fan blinked. \u201cHuh?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark leaned forward, voice like a glacier scraping across asphalt. \u201cGo home. Reconsider your life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fan slunk away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then someone showed up with a shirtless Gabriel cosplay<\/em> and a Sharpie, asking to \u201csign my chest like the alpha you are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel did it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thane looked like he wanted to throw himself into the nearest bass amp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re enabling<\/em> them,\u201d he hissed under his breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel just sipped his coffee and grinned, \u201cI\u2019m living my best life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another fan waddled up in a onesie<\/em> with painted abs, fangs made of Tic-Tacs, and a \u201cTeam Mark\u201d pin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark didn\u2019t blink. \u201cGet therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind the line, Jonah was filming everything.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rico whispered, \u201cI\u2019m gonna meme the shit outta this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maya just laughed and leaned on the wall. \u201cWe knew what this band was when we joined.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thane finally stood, hands flat on the table. \u201cOkay. I am calling an emergency band meeting<\/em> right now. This is not sustainable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel sipped his drink with a contented sigh. \u201cYou love it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou love it.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark stood next to Thane, arms crossed. \u201cWe\u2019re burning the internet down after this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGood.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, another fan posed for a photo with Gabriel while holding a handmade sign that read:
