The hum of tires on the freeway created a white noise blanket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in the very back of the van, beneath a makeshift blanket fort of hoodies and empty merch boxes\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026sat three absolute gremlins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maya, cross-legged, scribbling frantically in her prank journal.<br>Gabriel, perched on a cooler like a caffeinated gargoyle, a Sharpie in each hand.<br>Jonah, hoodie up, arms folded, glitter still in his <em>ears<\/em>, eyes haunted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis ends now,\u201d Jonah whispered, glaring at both of them. \u201cOr I go scorched earth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel grinned, wild and fangy. \u201cScorched earth sounds fun.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maya leaned forward, eyes gleaming like a dragon plotting arson. \u201cYou two amateurs forget\u2014I\u2019ve <em>literally<\/em> superglued a tour manager\u2019s shoes to the ceiling of a club bathroom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel snorted. \u201cYou were kicked out of Tijuana <em>twice<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThree times,\u201d she corrected. \u201cOne involved a goat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jonah held up a finger. \u201cOkay, focus. We call a truce, we go out in one glorious blaze of prank-fueled glory, <em>together<\/em>. No casualties. Well\u2014maybe Thane\u2019s patience, but that doesn\u2019t count.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel raised a brow. \u201cWhat\u2019re we talkin\u2019? Glitterbombs in the XLR cables? Hair dye in Mark\u2019s shampoo?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jonah leaned in. \u201cWe fill the fog machines with <em>scented mist<\/em>. Like&#8230; lavender and beef jerky.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel\u2019s eyes lit up. \u201cWe make the audience think we\u2019re summoning a werewolf yoga class <em>and<\/em> a barbecue.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maya scribbled fast. \u201cWe install Bluetooth speakers under every bunk. Play random wolf howls at 3:00 a.m. every night until someone cracks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They high-fived. The unholy pact was sealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the bunk behind them, Thane\u2019s voice growled low and cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIf you glue anything else in this van, I <em>will<\/em> rewire your toothbrushes to play Nickelback.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel cleared his throat. \u201c&#8230;worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Location: The Tour Van, Somewhere Outside Denver.
