A sign above the door read in neat, hand-painted lettering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201c103.7 The Beacon \u2013 Northwest Arkansas\u2019 Home for Faith and Fellowship!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A small plastic marquee beneath it read:<br><strong>\u201cToday\u2019s Guest: Feral Eclipse\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thane blinked. \u201cDid we\u2026 did we agree to this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel, already halfway out of the van, grinned. \u201cTechnically? I said we\u2019d do <em>a radio spot<\/em>. I didn\u2019t know it was <em>this<\/em> spot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cassie glanced up at the sign and made a face. \u201cI\u2019m not even wearing sleeves. Such a unique name. We\u2019re so excited to have you here sharing your music and ministry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thane blinked. \u201cMinistry?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel elbowed him. \u201cWe\u2019re&#8230; uh\u2026 a <em>ministry of sound<\/em>. Healing\u2026 through\u2026 music?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cassie made a high-pitched noise that might\u2019ve been a suppressed snort or the last gasp of her sanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pastor Jim nodded earnestly. \u201cThat\u2019s beautiful. So tell us, what inspires your songs?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jonah, deadpan: \u201cRage. The Feral Eclipse TikTok is trending again. Something about a flaming bass solo on a Ferris wheel?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pastor Jim slowly turned to Gabriel. \u201c\u2026You were <em>on<\/em> the Ferris wheel?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel: \u201cIt was stationary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cassie: \u201cYou set it on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel: \u201c<em>Mostly<\/em> stationary.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11:03 AM \u2013 Final Blessing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a final banana bread offering, two awkward selfies, and a moment where Jonah almost accidentally stole a stack of church bulletins (he thought they were flyers for a gig), the band was back in the van, driving fast and wordless down a back road away from 103.7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Silence reigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then Maya started giggling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cassie followed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then Gabriel cackled loud enough to scare a field of goats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rico wiped his face. \u201cWe are <em>never<\/em> getting booked in Branson now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thane just muttered, \u201cNext time, I\u2019m doing the damn interview alone.
