The gates were open, the music was loud, and the whole weekend screamed <em>feral freedom.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHoly crap,\u201d Jonah whispered, peeking out the window. \u201cIs that guy crowd-surfing in a baby pool?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTwo of them,\u201d Mark confirmed, sipping soda without a hint of judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel\u2019s grin practically broke his muzzle. \u201cOh <em>we are home.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udfd5\ufe0f <em>No VIP. No Backstage. Right in the Fray.<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Thane parked the van not in the designated artist section, but dead-center in the fan campground. He\u2019d made the call on the drive in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf we\u2019re playing for the people,\u201d he said, \u201cwe camp <em>with<\/em> the people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They pulled out folding chairs, canopies, and crates of merch like seasoned road warriors. Within <em>minutes<\/em>, their little corner of the festival turned into ground zero for chaos:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rico and Maya were jamming with random fans on battered acoustics and beer cans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jonah started a drum-off on plastic tubs with a group of shirtless dudes in war paint.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gabriel signed a <em>shirtless guy\u2019s back<\/em> and got lifted onto a cooler like some kind of wolf god.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A massive, duct-taped hand-painted banner reading <em>\u201cFERAL ECLIPSE CAMPS HERE\u201d<\/em> was hoisted by a fan over the site. Someone grilled hot dogs. Someone else tried to name their tent <em>The Howlden.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcfb <em>The Surprise Interview<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Late in the afternoon, a station crew from <strong>97.5 KZLF \u2014 The Rig<\/strong> came by, clearly following the noise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their DJ, Carla Vega, held out a mic and said, \u201cWe were gonna track down your tour manager. Then we saw your bassist crowd-surfing on a camp mattress.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel threw a peace sign behind her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So they pulled up camp chairs, gathered around a beat-up fold-out table, and went live on the air right there in the dirt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re not hiding in green rooms,\u201d Carla said into the mic. \u201cYou\u2019re right here in the madness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cassie smirked. \u201cThat\u2019s where the wolves run.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTell me about the album,\u201d Carla pressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thane leaned in. \u201cTwelve tracks, one message: no chains. No rules. Just the raw truth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gabriel added, \u201cAlso? Fire. There might be fire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd25 <em>Speaking of Fire\u2026<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>That night, the band lit a massive campfire and kicked off an impromptu acoustic set with half the campground packed around them. Guitars out, stripped-down harmonies, and a hell of a lot of off-key backup vocals from the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gabriel howled the bridge of <em>\u201cAshes and Iron\u201d<\/em> into the stars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cassie sang <em>\u201cDown the Line\u201d<\/em> so hard people were crying.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jonah led a clap-along using nothing but tent stakes and a pot lid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Then someone knocked over a torch. Sparks hit a cooler. A roll of paper towels lit up like a beacon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFIRE!\u201d someone shouted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark and Thane <em>leapt<\/em> into action \u2014 dumping soda, smothering flames, grabbing the fire extinguisher from the van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Smoke billowed. People cheered. Gabriel raised his arms like he planned the whole thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cROCKLAHOMA!\u201d he bellowed into the smoke. \u201cTHE WOLVES HAVE LANDED!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf04 <em>Morning Headlines<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The next day, Feral Eclipse made the front page of the local news app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>\u201cNewcomer Band Ignites Rocklahoma \u2014 Literally and Figuratively\u201d<\/strong><br><em>Campfire concert, surprise interview, crowd-surfing mayhem, and a minor fire drama make Feral Eclipse the name on everyone\u2019s lips.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Another band\u2014<em>Vandal Saints<\/em>\u2014rolled into the area mid-morning, clearly annoyed.
