The studio looked slick on the outside\u2014black glass, chrome trim, downtown LA vibes with just enough edgy graffiti to feel \u201cunderground.\u201d Inside, it was all LED backlighting and faux-hipster charm. Shelves stacked with vinyl, a few scattered awards on the wall, and one oversized sign above the booth that read: LOUDER THAN WORDS \u2013 With Jax Ryder.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel eyed it as they walked in, his ears twitching slightly. \u201cLouder than words,\u201d he muttered. \u201cThat sounds\u2026 subtle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thane gave a soft growl under his breath. \u201cYeah. Subtle like a trapdoor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jax Ryder greeted them with a smile that didn\u2019t quite reach his eyes. Slick hair, high-end sneakers, and the smugness of someone who thought<\/em> they knew the music world inside and out. \u201cFeral Eclipse! What\u2019s up, legends? Wolves in the booth today, huh? Hope you don\u2019t shed on the mic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel grinned politely. \u201cHope your questions don\u2019t shed their professionalism.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That earned a chuckle from the producer, but Jax just waved them in like they were walking into a wolf-proof cage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pack took their seats. Thane and Gabriel at the mics, Mark behind them off-camera, casually sipping a bottled water. Jonah, Cassie, Rico, and Maya hung back near the glass window, just in case things got weird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And they did.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first ten minutes were fine\u2014talk about tour life, musical influences, what it was like being literal werewolves in a human-dominated industry. But then Jax started poking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo, Thane,\u201d he said, leaning forward, \u201cyou used to be a system engineer, right? Lotta folks online say you were just another tech bro who lucked into viral fame. What do you say to the people who think this band is a gimmick built on claws and eyeliner?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thane didn\u2019t even blink. \u201cI say they\u2019ve never heard us live.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel chuckled. \u201cOr stood too close to the pit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jax smirked. \u201cAnd Gabriel\u2014there\u2019s been a lot of\u2026 speculation. Some people think you play up the \u2018sensitive werewolf\u2019 angle for clout. That the whole kid-with-the-bass story was staged. You wanna clear that up?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The air snapped tight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thane\u2019s eyes narrowed. Mark slowly<\/em> uncapped his water bottle like he was imagining how best to pour it into Jax\u2019s laptop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel leaned in, ice-blue eyes suddenly far less friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat kid\u2019s name is Leo. He\u2019s real. So is the Ernie Ball I gave him. So is the show he rocked in front of fifteen thousand fans. You wanna call that staged?\u201d He paused. \u201cI\u2019ll happily put you on the guest list for the next one. Front row. You can ask him yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jax hesitated, but only for a second. \u201cOkay, okay, fair. Didn\u2019t mean to strike a nerve\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo,\u201d Thane interrupted, voice like thunder. \u201cYou meant to go viral off our backs. It\u2019s cool. That\u2019s your job. Ours is to make music that breaks bones and builds legends. Guess which one lasts longer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark, still behind the glass, held up a phone. On it? The live fan chat. Hundreds of comments were pouring in. \u201cJax just got wrecked.\u201d \u201cProtect Gabriel at all costs.\u201d \u201cThane\u2019s voice just ended a bloodline.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The producer leaned in, panicked. \u201cCan we, uh\u2026 maybe pivot?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel grinned wide. \u201cYou mean roll credits?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thane stood up, slow and deliberate, his claws tapping once on the edge of the soundboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the time they hit the van, the clip had already gone viral. Fans were posting reaction videos. Someone remixed Thane\u2019s \u201cguess which one lasts longer\u201d line into a synth drop. The show\u2019s subreddit was locked due to overwhelming traffic.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And somewhere, deep in LA, Jax Ryder sat in a silent studio, realizing he\u2019d just been steamrolled by the pack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
