Welcome to Three Werewolves: Night Shift.

This website exists to share stories, characters, chapters, updates, and the occasional amount of wolf-related chaos. We take privacy seriously, even if our fictional detectives are occasionally less serious about pancakes.

This Privacy Policy explains what information this site may collect, why it is collected, how it may be used, and the choices available to you.

The Short Version

We collect only the information needed to operate the website, manage comments or accounts if those features are enabled, protect the site from spam and abuse, and respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your information to train werewolves, track you through the woods, or determine whether you are secretly a catalytic-converter thief.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we may collect the information entered into the comment form, including your name, email address, website address if provided, and comment text.

We may also collect your IP address and browser user-agent information to help detect spam, abuse, and automated comment activity.

Your comment, display name, and any public profile image connected to your account may be visible to other visitors once the comment is approved.

Please do not post private, confidential, or sensitive information in public comments. Comments are public by nature, and the internet has a long memory.

Gravatar Profile Images

If comments are enabled, an anonymized value created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use a Gravatar profile image.

If a matching profile image exists and your comment is approved, that image may appear publicly beside your comment.

Gravatar is operated by Automattic. Please review Automattic’s applicable privacy information for details about how Gravatar handles data.

Media Uploads

If you upload images to this website, please avoid uploading images that contain embedded location information, such as GPS data in image metadata.

Visitors may be able to download images published on the site and extract any embedded metadata. In other words: do not accidentally post the coordinates of your secret cabin, hidden treasure, or perfectly ordinary place of residence.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser that help websites remember information or function properly.

This website may use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Remembering comment-form details, such as your name, email address, and website address, if you choose to save them.
  • Confirming whether your browser accepts cookies when you visit a login page.
  • Keeping registered users logged in.
  • Remembering display preferences for registered users or site administrators.
  • Supporting security, spam prevention, and basic website functionality.
  • Supporting embedded content or third-party services, where applicable.

If you leave a comment and choose to save your information, the related cookies may remain in your browser for up to one year.

Login cookies generally remain active for a limited period. Selecting a “Remember Me” option may keep a login session active for a longer period. Logging out should remove the active login cookies from your browser.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect certain features, such as commenting, logging in, or viewing embedded content.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles and pages on this site may include embedded content from other websites, such as videos, images, social-media posts, music players, or articles.

Embedded content behaves as though you visited the outside website directly. That outside website may collect information about you, use cookies, track your interaction with the embedded material, or connect that activity to an account you have with that service.

We do not control the privacy practices of outside websites. Please review the privacy policy of any third-party service you choose to use.

User Accounts

If visitor registration is enabled, we collect the information you provide when creating or managing an account, such as your username, email address, display name, password-related account data, and profile information you choose to provide.

Registered users may generally view, update, or delete their personal profile information, except that usernames may not always be changeable.

Site administrators may access account information when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, maintain, or support the website.

Password Resets

If you request a password reset, the reset email may include your IP address as part of the site’s security and account-recovery process.

How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

  • Publish and moderate comments.
  • Respond to messages, questions, or requests.
  • Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website.
  • Detect spam, fraud, abuse, or security issues.
  • Support user accounts, logins, and password resets.
  • Comply with legal obligations or enforce site rules.

We use only what we reasonably need for these purposes. No unnecessary tracking. No mysterious black vans. No dramatic corkboard with red string.

Who We Share Information With

We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the site, such as:

  • Website hosting providers.
  • Spam-detection services.
  • Email delivery providers.
  • Security, backup, or site-maintenance services.
  • Comment-avatar services, such as Gravatar, when enabled.
  • Third-party platforms whose content is embedded on this site.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the site or its users, investigate security issues, or respond to valid legal requests.

We do not sell personal information.

How Long We Keep Information

Comments and their related metadata may be retained indefinitely. This helps us recognize follow-up comments, manage moderation, and reduce spam.

If you create an account, we retain the personal information in your user profile for as long as the account remains active or as otherwise needed to operate the site, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, or maintain security records.

We may retain limited information for a reasonable time after deletion requests when needed for security, fraud prevention, backups, legal obligations, or administrative records.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and how you interact with the site, you may be able to request:

  • Access to personal information we hold about you.
  • A copy of personal information you provided.
  • Correction of inaccurate information.
  • Deletion of personal information, subject to legitimate legal, security, or administrative exceptions.
  • Removal of a public comment you posted, where appropriate.

To make a request, contact us at thane@threewerewolves.com.

Please include enough information for us to identify the relevant account, comment, or request. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

Children’s Privacy

This website is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through this website without permission, please contact us at thane@threewerewolves.com so we can review and address the situation.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to help protect information collected through this website.

No website, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. We encourage visitors to use strong passwords, avoid sharing sensitive information in comments, and keep their own devices and accounts secure.

In detective terms: lock the door, keep your evidence bag sealed, and do not leave the password on a sticky note next to the computer.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in website features, services, legal requirements, or how we handle information.

When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page.
